GeoGuessr

You’re dropped somewhere on Earth with no address, no compass, and no idea — just a street view to wander and a map to stake a guess on. GeoGuessr turns geography into a detective game, and suddenly every road sign, license plate, and weirdly specific tree matters.

About GeoGuessr

Each round places you in a random Street View-style location. You can pan, zoom, and move along the road as far as your nerve allows, hunting for clues: the side of the road cars drive on, the language on signs, the style of the power poles, the color of the soil. When you’re ready, you drop a pin on the world map and lock in a guess.

Your score is based on how close the pin landed to the actual location — a perfect match is a bullseye, a wrong continent is a rounding error. The game rewards a trained eye more than raw travel experience; plenty of players learn to read sun position and bollard styles better than they know their own state lines.

How to Play

Drag to look around, click and hold to move down the road, and use the zoom to read signs. The minimap in the corner is your scoring tool: click to place your guess, then confirm. After each round you see the correct location, the distance you missed by, and where the next drop lands.

Pay attention early — the first ten seconds of scanning usually tell you more than a long aimless wander will.

Tips

  • Check which side of the road traffic uses; that alone splits the world into a handful of likely regions.
  • Read signage language and script before anything else — it narrows countries fast.
  • If the view feels empty, look up. Road lines, poles, and curbs are the meta for a reason.

Use the player above and take your best shot at the globe. The map knows exactly how wrong you are.
