Flappy Bird

One tap gives you a flap. One missed tap ends the run. Flappy Bird is the purest test of patience and timing ever packed into a phone-sized game, and it’s just as liable to ruin your afternoon now as it ever was.

About Flappy Bird

You control a small bird that sinks constantly and flaps upward on every tap. The course is a scrolling gauntlet of green pipes with gaps that look generous right up until you’re in them. Touch any pipe, the ground, or the ceiling, and the run is over — your score is whatever pipes you cleared.

There are no power-ups, no difficulty options, and no mercy. The bird responds the same way on pipe one and pipe fifty; the only variable is your nerve. That minimalism is the entire appeal. Scores in the single digits feel insulting, double digits feel like progress, and anyone who claims they “finally beat it” is usually hiding their actual number.

How to Play

Tap the screen, click the mouse, or hit the spacebar to flap. Every flap kicks the bird upward; gravity does the rest. The goal is sliding through the gap in each pair of pipes without clipping the edges.

There’s no left or right — the scroll is constant, so all you’re really managing is altitude. Hover at the middle of each gap rather than chasing the top edge, and let gravity do the fine work between taps.

Tips

  • Tap rhythm beats tap panic. Find a soft, repeating cadence instead of hammering when you’re scared.
  • Aim for the center of the gap. Hugging the top pipe feels safe until one tap too many shoves you into it.
  • Die early, restart fast. Momentum matters more in this game than any single run does.

Use the player above and find out how many pipes you’re good for. The bird will not wait for you.
