The first base is rubble; the sequel brings bigger maps, heavier hardware and a lot more things that shoot back. Awesome Tanks 2 keeps the drive-and-blast loop of the original and layers on new weapons, tougher enemies and levels that reward actually reading the room before you floor it.
About Awesome Tanks 2
Same premise: clear each level of hostile forces while scavenging cash for upgrades. The difference is scale. Maps are larger and more open, enemy variety is wider — including units that move, not just turrets — and the upgrade tree goes deeper, with more guns to buy and more reasons to specialize your tank between missions. Some levels want a speed build; others demand armor that can absorb a missile.
It is a natural jump for anyone who finished the first game, and a friendly entry point if you have not. The early levels reteach the basics gently, then the difficulty curve starts asking questions about positioning and ammo economy that the original mostly ignored.
How to Play
WASD or arrow keys drive the tank; the mouse aims and left click fires. Kill everything hostile in the level, collect the cash dropped by crates and wrecks, then buy upgrades between stages — weapons, armor, speed and reload speed all matter. New weapons can be swapped during levels, so pick up what drops and adapt. Doors and lifts open once a room is secure. Explosive barrels remain the tactical equalizer, and the minimap is still the fastest way to notice a flanking turret before it notices you.
Tips
- Specialize: a fast, lightly armored build plays nothing like a slow heavy — half-upgrading both leaves you mediocre at everything.
- Save one expensive ammo type for rooms with clustered turrets; clearing the threats first makes the rest trivial.
- Clear corners methodically. Rushing into the center of a big map is how most runs end in crossfire.
